MARQUETTE, Mich. — The Northern Michigan University women's lacrosse team picked up their first win of the season with a 15-4 victory over Lewis University Friday night.
| FIRST HALF
The women came out firing int he first half, outshooting the Flyers, 18-6, and registering nine goals.
Madeline Bittel recorded a natural hatrick in the opening 7:07 of play, scoring the first three Wildcat goals to put them up, 3-0.
Bittel scored once more in the waning minutes of the half for her fourth of the game before Graison Ringlever capped off the Wildcat scoring in the first half with her first of the season.
Goalkeeper Cam Stilson finished the evening with two saves.
| SECOND HALF
The Flyers struck first in the second half, scoring on a free position shot early in the frame.
Speas put the Wildcats back up by eight when she netted her second of the game with 21:07 to play in regulation.
The women would tally five more in the second half following Speas' goal for the 15-4 final while posting 34 total shots, 26 of which were on net.
Aliyah Smukala saw her first collegiate action, standing tall between the posts in the second half. She recorded five total saves in her debut.
